We have started to construct our girls hostel and it looks great

344757368_994738644891619_1567596608723561494_n

We had a good day at Bahasi as we were ground breaking. We had Pamela Boris from Blantyre city council as a guest of honor and several guests who came on behalf of the MP and ward Councilor and Wisiki Village headman.

Our aim of this hostel is to have a good place for the girls but at the same campus. The money we're using now is the money we raised a year ago through the mock wedding but the money we raised is not enough.

Thanks to our MP honourable O.Shaba from Blantyre bangwe constituency for pledging to give us 10 bags of cement for the hostel and he has shown a good example. We're asking for those who are willing to support us to build this hostel.

Do help and DONATE

Trip to Game Haven

TriptoGameHeave_20220816-140333_1

On the 12th of August, our 2022 International Volunteer, Jake, took us to Game Haven! We picked up our kids at Jacaranda school at 2:00 and went straight to the animal viewing reserve. We were kindly met by the staff who offered their adventure playground as a waiting area for Bahasi. We went on 3 separate half an hour game drives and managed to see some awesome animals. The main highlights were zebra, giraffe, wilder beast, nyala, impala and guineafowl. Having spent lots of time either playing in the plaground or on the game drive, everyone was hungry; so before we set off home to Bahasi, we had a lovely Braii at Game Haven.

We are also experiencing an enormous rise in cost for school transportation (up 50%) and food, so your help is most appreciated. See our needs!

GiftofGivers

Just when we were wondering where we could get blankets from to keep our kids warm this winter, Gift of the Givers called to let us know that they had blankets and other goodies especially for us because today is Nelson Mandela day! How blessed we felt when they arrived not only with blankets, but with gallons of hand sanitizer, buckets and other foodstuffs as well!
A huge thank you to the wonderful people at Gift of the Givers who made our day so special and happy Nelson Mandela day to everyone. Years after his death Nelson Mandela is still a gift that keeps giving!

And yesterday we had a wonderful "Mock Wedding" fundraiser with lots of fun, dance and music.
